James Day—亞美尼亞 UWC 畢業年度2020年

9 March 2019

Stepping foot in Armenia- a country that is rarely known in my culture, has given me a grand learning opportunity. A country filled with culture, on the outside, looks like a beautiful European city, but the people, the music, the culture, has a scent of Asia in it.
It’s been a good semester. There are only two years in this intensive course, so you’ve got to make the best out of this. First term wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but seeing all my second years suffer is telling me to study next term. The second term is when your grades really all matter, it’s for your predicted grades, and will matter a lot for your uni apps. This term has been really eye opening for me, because not just the adaptation to the new learning and teaching style has given me a shock, but also people from other cultures have really had a big impact in my life in UWCD. Boarding in a school really forces you, wether you enjoy it or not, to meet and be close with the people around you, and you will be exposed to people 24/7. I find this very enjoyable as it builds stronger relationships than ever before, and I can know the full story behind a person, and not just what I see during the school day. This opportunity has led to many others aside from the great academics in UWCD, and this journey will sure be a great one, I am looking forward to the nest one and a half years!
